“Encounters in the Amazon” is one of the most adventurous expeditions to the heart of the Amazon. We are proud to offer this fantastic adventure over four days along the Shiripuno river.

This adventure unfolds in Yasuní National Park, where you will live like a nomad. Camping on the shores of the Shiripuno river, you will be constantly on the move while discovering the lush richness of this protected reserve. Additionally, you will experience authentic encounters with one of the most mysterious Amazonian indigenous communities: the Huaoranis.

Starting from, Quito, the capital, you will be transferred to the Amazon Rainforest by trespassing the eastern Andes mountain and eventually descent to the heart of the Yasuní, one of Ecuador’s most emblematic protected reserves.

Day 1 : Quito > Francisco de Orellana (El Coca) > Amazon Rainforest (Yasuní National Park)

You will depart early from your hotel and be transferred to Francisco de Orellana (el Coca). This will be a long transfer by land ( approximately 5 hours), followed by a 2 hour transfer to the port where you will undertake your adventure.

Day 2 : Amazon Rainforest (Yasuní National Park)

Move like nomads along the Shiripuno river while discovering the Yasuní Park on fantastic canoe expeditions, hikes, cultural visits, and more. You will camp on the shores of the river.

Day 3 : Amazon Rainforest (Yasuní National Park)

Day 4 : Amazon Rainforest > Francisco de Orellana (El Coca) > Quito

You will get up early to take part in a last expedition while returning to the civilization.

* Amazon Rainforest:

=> Private Naturalist Guide (From Day 1 to 4) : private transfers, activities, and excursions accompanied by your local English-speaking guide (max 6 people per guide).

* Transfer From Quito to the Amazon / Amazon to Quito (included):

=> Days 1 & 5 : land transfers to/from the village of Francisco de Orellana “El Coca”. Transfers are private with an Spanish-speaking driver (4×2 Kia Sportage or Hyundai H1 vehicle type, or minibus depending on the group size)

Note : for 4+ people you will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide + a Spanish-speaking driver.

– No specific physical or technical level is required for this trip. However, Some walks will be planned. They will not be physically hard but you will have to accept to walk 2 to 3 hours straight.
– During the 3 nights of your stay you will camp in comfortable tents (the size of the tents depends on the group size and your preference)
– Transfers and visits times are indicative.
– Tips: we recommend between $ 10 and $ 20 per worked day for a guide, and between $ 5 and $ 10 per worked day for a driver.
